About The Role:

  • Assessing insurance applications and evaluating risks by thoroughly analysing data and industry trends.
  • Building and nurturing strong relationships with brokers, agents, and clients to grasp their needs and offer customised insurance solutions.
  • Working closely with the underwriting team to review policies, negotiate terms, and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Implementing pricing strategies to maximise profitability while staying competitive in the market.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior underwriters to help them grow and succeed in their careers.
  • Engaging in cross-departmental projects to continuously improve and innovate the underwriting processes.
  • Keeping up-to-date with current laws, best practices, underwriting standards, systems, and company guidelines for a comprehensive understanding.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in underwriting within the insurance industry
  • Strong knowledge of current legislation, best practices, underwriting acceptance levels, systems, and organisational guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
